What your life looks like? Or what your life feels like?

Michelle Obama advocates that “Success isn’t about how your life looks to others. It’s about how it feels to you.” It is more than okay to be proud of your life and to share your triumphs with others, however if your driving force is to receive external validation on how your life looks to others, then your mindset must shift. Your driving force that gets you up every day should be to create synthetic happiness for yourself and live a balanced life to achieve amazing things. I personally believe the best feeling in the world is when you feel genuinely proud of yourself. So strive for that feeling and dont wait around for others to give you recognition. You can do things and love every moment of your life without having to prove you have a 'good life' to anybody. The truth is people will probably notice more when you are proud of your journey, you will glow in a new way and you don't have to prove it.
The concept of 'comparison' can be a boulder on the pathway to success and fulfilment. Comparing how many commas in someone's bank account or simply how 'perfect' their life may look is demoralising. An effective way to address this mindset is to focus on your growth. The best person to compare to is yourself because it gives you more control. Reflect on how far you have come this year or month, have you reached any goals, have you tried something new, have you reached out to an old friend, what structure can you implement into your life to keep achieving great things? Do not buy into comparison because overthinking is the self inflicting act that will slowly bring your self esteem down.
Go out today and celebrate life in its abounding fullness of joy for the mind, body, and soul.
